The challenge
A family business, four generations strong, Williams Automobiles specialise in selling much-loved Morgan cars. With son Henry Williams having recently taken over the running of the business as MD from his father Richard, the family wanted to cement his position at the helm of his business.
The solution
We worked with Richard and Henry to understand the story behind their family business over four generations and developed a series of angles and topics that were relevant to supporting their family business message for today’s world.
We then put in place a programme of regional and national profile raising opportunities for Henry Williams, to comment on issues affecting business owners (many of which are his target audience).
We also pursued ‘How I Made it’ style profile pieces and entrepreneur awards for Henry – he had achieved significant success in re-building the business following financial struggles before he took over.
The results
We achieved widespread media coverage in the regional and national press, including the Director magazine, the Guardian, South West Business Insider, BBC Points West and Real Business.
Henry Williams featured nationally on ITV’s Tonight programme after the team spent a day filming at Williams Automobiles premises. Henry was also named Family Business Director of the year by the Institute of Directors South West, (IoD).
