Without any internal marketing function, the company had strong technical engineering skills but lacked the marketing expertise and experience required to get the most out of attending its first ever trade exhibition.

Reygar made the decision to invest in exhibiting at SeaWork International, Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition. Regarded as the commercial marine and workboat sector’s one-stop-shop for buyers and influencers, SeaWork attracts over 7,600 industry professionals and Reygar knew they needed to maximise every opportunity to raise their profile, launch a new product, stand out from the crowd and connect with prospective customers.

AMBITIOUS kicked off an intense programme of activity with a planning workshop to develop Reygar’s tone of voice, PR messages for different trade audiences, marketing materials and proposition.

A highly targeted PR campaign was then implemented which included generating core marketing materials, establishing a broader on-line presence, implementing a social media campaign including LinkedIn training for the Reygar Directors, showcasing a talk as part of the Innovate UK collective, creating key links with press at the trade show, as well as securing great publicity for Reygar in the form of various editorial articles published in the key marine industry publications.

Over an intensive eight week period Reygar’s image was transformed from an unknown marine engineering company to a known, capable “new kid on the block” that is now drawing the attention of both customers and competitors.

Highlights included extensive trade media coverage (online and offline) and social media support including a LinkedIn programme that connected the Reygar team with new client prospects.

Reygar also won an innovation award for the BareFLEET product that was being launched at SeaWork. A vital ingredient to winning this award was general awareness of the product and the company which AMBITIOUS helped to establish in the run up to the show.
