Lis is an experienced PR consultancy Director and MD with over 20 years in the B2B and B2C marketing communications industry. Agency side she has held Board level positions at JBP, also as a partner of Worldcom Public Relations Group, and Bray Leino (Speed Communications) before launching AMBITIOUS.
Starting her career in sponsorship PR, working with BBC Sports and the British Olympic Association, she then moved into integrated marketing agency life working on national and international campaigns for clients including Lucas Industries and Allied Domecq. And, after a short step into an in-house role for Design Council, Lis headed South West and back into PR consultancy to join leading agencies based in the region – working across property, construction, education, healthcare, retail, food and drink, tech and professional services.
Alongside her PR agency career, Lis also founded and ran Talking Heads for 13 years - a communications training network that delivered affordable courses delivered by practitioners for practitioners in the areas of social media, marketing communications, PR and crisis management. Lis worked in partnership with PR agency heads including McCanns, Bray Leino and Grayling to provide venues and hosted a wide range of delegates from PR agencies Golley Slater, JBP, Spirit PR and Purplefish PR alongside brands and organisations including Triodos Bank, Sawdays, Bristol City Council, Trinity Mirror Group, Manchester City, NHS and Atkins.
Lis is a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Public Relations and has served on the CIPR’s National Council and as Chair in the South West region for a number of years. She has also been a committee member of the Public Relations and Communications Association, the PRCA.
Passionate about the region and the creative industries sector, Lis is now both active and involved in a number of organisations including a Bristol Creative Industries, where she is a Vice Chair, and as a Governor at City of Bristol College when she helps the college to engage with employers.
She also runs a number of coaching sessions with SETSquared residents and has also spoken at a number of industry events including MEET South West and the BBC Academy’s Digital Cities.
At AMBITIOUS, Lis supports a range of clients including Access Creative College, St James’s Place, ASDAN and CBRE and leads day to day agency operations including looking after our agency brand.
