I’m looking forward to attending Social Media Week London next week to find out more about the biggest trends and challenges that will be affecting our industry in 2019. The conference will be taking place from November 14-16th and will feature some amazing keynotes from global influencers including the BBC, Hearst, L’Oréal, Lloyds Banking Group.

I’m really excited to attend talks including ‘Easy come, easy go – the disruption of loyalty and Facebook’ and ‘Unlocking the social rhythm: social data and impact on planning’. Keep an eye on the AMBITIOUS social channels and SMWBristol for more insight into Social Media Week London 2018.

Digital Cities is returning to Bristol with a week-long programme of free, inspirational learning and networking opportunities aimed at developing the skills of both the current and next generation of staff working in the creative industries. The project has run successfully in Bristol for five years, bringing industry partners together to boost their region’s digital and production skills and acting as a catalyst for exciting collaborations within the creative sector.

Starting on November 26th, Skills West, a project delivered by Business West and Bristol Media are coordinating a series of free events designed to help your business face a competitive digital future, called Open Doors.

I’m finding all the radio and TV coverage about the WW1 centenary really moving and interesting at the moment. I will be enjoying the Bristol centenary events to mark 100 years since the First World War and Remembrance Sunday this weekend. There are lots of Remembrance Day events and exhibitions in Bristol throughout November which are really worth a visit.

It’s the North Bristol Arts Trail on November 24th and 25th, and I’m interested to see who is opening their doors this year. It’s a brilliant way for small, local makers and artists to showcase their work and raise their profiles within the local community. Lots of local shops and businesses also take part, as well as mini exhibitions in cafes and community spaces. I love having the chance to meet local artists, step inside their homes and even pick up some Christmas presents!

It’s International Women’s Entrepreneur Day on November 19th and there’s lots of activity planned to empower, celebrate and support women in business to alleviate poverty. Sadly, I can’t attend the flagship event as it’s in New York, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on the campaign hashtag #ChooseWomen on social media. As a female business director, the campaign’s movement to create the largest directory of women-owned and led businesses that support the Choose Women mission really resonates with me. You can sign their WEDO Pledge here.

As a busy Bristol PR agency we’re lucky to be involved with so many interesting events, projects and campaigns. Are you planning to go along to any of these events – or are you looking forward to something we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments below, or connect with us on Twitter @Ambitiouspr.
