Bristol and the South West is a beacon for fantastic freelance talent. And, with more demand for freelance support in 2017, we’re going to be hosting a series of events for like minds.
This is just the first, and we’ll be getting together regularly during the year to support the freelance community, with guest speakers and interesting information to share. So, please let us know if you’d like to book / register / get involved.
Designed to give you the skills and knowledge to promote yourself and run your freelance business, we’ll be dedicating just over 2 hours to learning, developing new skills and sharing best practice plus a chance to meet new colleagues … and of course like minds.
This first session will be working through some of the core steps to consider – no matter what stage you’re at with your freelance career – including:
Liz Gadd, Recruiter in PR, Communications and Marketing will discuss and share with you her 25 years of experience of placing freelance PR, marketing and communications professionals. This will include what potential new clients are looking for in applications and approaches, how to find and meet the right people, how to structure and develop a healthy pipeline of business, how to approach and target the right people who will keep your income healthy, and honest facts around day rates.
We will look at LinkedIn, direct approaches, building your prospect list and general hints and tips about how to get the right work for you. Freelance career advice in real life, with plenty of knowledge to share about what it’s really like and what really works in finding freelance work with clients.
Ambitious PR, with over 22 years of experience in PR and running a business based on an agile resourcing structure, will share their experiences of working with freelancers and offer some advice about working with agencies and direct with clients, and how to develop a great relationship with your freelance colleagues.
This session will also cover the do’s and don’ts of working as a freelancer in 2017 and beyond, with some real-life and useful insights into day rates!
